It all started, as a lot of things are wont to do, with those late night binge-watching stints on Netflix. Now with binge watching comes this inexplicable urge to munch … and munch … and munch … you get the drift.
So, you turn to Swiggy or Zomato (whichever is offering the best deals), or then reach for that packet of namkeen you picked up yesterday. And before you know it, it’s over, and you’re looking for the next companion to devour (much like a praying mantis).
The regrets start the next morning … if only we could have snacked on something healthier, or rather, if only there was something healthier for us to snack on … if only we had an alternative.
This happened to us one too many times, and we figured it was time to finally take matters in our own hands. The first condition – we didn’t want it fried.
Some daytime experimentations (who are we kidding, lots of experiments), kept motivated with those late night binges, and, one bright sunny day, we finally had it … the perfect balance of taste and nutrition. And henceforth, regrets were a thing of the past.
Millets are all the rage these days, and it’s practically mandatory to give them a shot. So we tried making stuff with them too. Take it from us, its a lot tougher to get them to taste good, and we almost gave up. But then, one day, Kunjal took a bite, chewed thoughtfully for a bit, took another bite, and said, “I think we’re getting there”
From that day on, we always had home roasted snacks in the house. Our son took them in his tiffin, we served them to all our guests, gifted them to our friends, and everyone kept coming back for more.
That’s when we realised we had managed to cook up something good – the alternative we had always wanted. And just like that “The Roasted Alternative” was born.
A range of healthy roasted snacking options which are quintessentially Indian (like all of us, we’re good to try out all cuisines, but our comfort food remains Indian), but we have reimagined them for a modern world – a world where we are all juggling multiple things, and nutrition, sadly takes a back seat.
Clean Ingredients. High On Nutrition. High On Taste. Snacks which we could have after a workout, snacks we could put in our child’s tiffin, snacks we could reach out for in-between meals, which would stay with us during our binge watching … Snacks that were not just empty calories, but snacks which would nurture and satiate. That’s what we wanted for ourselves, and that is what we bring to you.
So go ahead and try them out. And let us know if we got it right. We would love to hear from you. And in the meantime, we’ll keep experimenting with more ingredients and flavours.

No dogs were harmed. They hid all our mistakes. They now get the snacks as treats.
